There are striking similarities between the crucifixion of Jesus and the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. Jesus was crucified under the order of the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, who had ultimate authority over law and order. Pilate, likely viewing Jesus as a potential revolutionary figure who could incite unrest, authorized the execution despite finding no fault in Him. Similarly, thousands of Palestinians in Gaza have faced severe injustices, with innocent children, women, men, and people of all ages suffering and dying without justification.

At the time of Jesus’ crucifixion, many did not act until later, when billions came to follow Him. Today, we, as Christians around the world, are witnessing a modern-day tragedy in the Holy Land, where our Lord was crucified. Yet, many of us remain silent, watching without intervention, as if it is not our concern. Praying is essential and brings blessings, but it alone will not save the thousands facing death from relentless forces.

We must remember that when Jesus returns, He will judge us for what we did not do to save humanity and the world. This call to action is not limited to Christians but extends to Muslims, Jews, and people of all faiths. We must wake up and “PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION” before it is too late.

“Let us work together to replace despair with HOPE, fear with human SECURITY and humiliation with DIGNITY.”
