In the presence of ACT Alliance General Secretary Mr. Rudelmar Bueno de Faria and the World Council of Churches General Secretary Reverend Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, the General Assembly of ACT, held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, elected a new Governing Board on Friday, November 1, 2024.
The board includes representatives from different regions and continents around the world, among them Eng. Samer Laham, the nominee of the Middle East Council of Churches and Director of its Department of Diakonia and Social Service. He is deserving of this service, and we wish him more progress and success in serving humanity and the welfare of communities.
On this occasion, Reverend Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay addressed the new board members, congratulating them and wishing them success in their new mission. He also pointed out that their mission is important, especially for building a better future, emphasizing their role in spreading wisdom and striving to enhance the management of ACT Alliance affairs. He added, “Your responsibility is great in serving Jesus Christ and your organizations through your energies and abilities.”
It is worth noting that the Fourth General Assembly of ACT Alliance is held under the theme “Hope in Action, Together for Justice,” between October 28 and November 1, 2024.
