HCEF sponsored a discussion between two prominent Christian Evangelicals, entitled, "Are Christians Obligated to Support Israel? Two Different Theological Perspectives". The tone of the conversation was welcoming and cordial, although the speakers differed significantly in their responses to the title question. Rev. Dr. Gary Burge of Wheaton College and Ms. JoAnn Magnuson of Bridges for Peace represented the two different theological positions and discussed their practical implications for peace-building and justice in the Middle East. The session ran over time due to interesting and spirited questions from the audience.
