Dear colleagues,
On behalf of World Vision Jerusalem’s staff, partners and beneficiaries, we want to convey our shock and sadness at the horrendous attacks on the lives of innocent Americans. We extend our condolences to the American people who are grieving as a result of terrorist actions in New York and Washington D.C.
Palestinians living in the occupied territories deplore the acts of the madmen that terrorized, injured and killed thousands of Americans. Palestinians stand in solidarity with the American people as they themselves have experienced injustice and human rights abuses as a result of military occupation for the past three decades.
We pray that American leaders will not make unnecessary assumptions, and will examine the reasons behind such terror before taking action that might only cause the suffering of more innocents around the world.
During this difficult time, may we remember that the acts of a few should not be blamed on a religion, race, ethnic group or nationality. Let us pray that no more innocent blood be shed around the world.
