My name is Nadim Rishmawi ,I’m 13 years old .
My name is Nadim I’m a Palestinian living in the city of Beit Sahour the Biblical site of the Shepherds, I am trying to live a normal life full of joy and happiness like my other companions in the whole world, but I discovered that dreams will never come true while my country is still threatened by occupation.
I will tell you now my story with its details during the worst ten days in my life when the Israeli Military Forces reoccupied Bethlehem District.
On the 8th of October while I was reading a book, suddenly I heard an enormous explosion, I thought that my house fall down I stand up with mixed feeling how I can safe my family especially my sister, I saw my mother so terrified, She holds us in her arms and tried her best to make us feel secure and safe. My Father retuned back with the most horrible news that the Israeli occupation had assassinated three Palestinians by a missile five meter far away from our house.
The next day the crime has began the Israeli soldiers joined with tanks, bulldozers, Apache helicopters and jeeps with high technology weapons penetrated Bethlehem District, killing innocent people, attacking hospitals especially the French hospital for delivery, damaging houses of Al- Aza and Ayda refugee camps, Beit Jala and Bethlehem without taking in consideration that there is human being. Imagine yourself what will be your feeling while you are watching the damaging of your house, when you spend all your life to construct it? What will be your reaction and feeling, when you see your brother or sister and mother killed in front of you? What will be your respond when you are watching the killing of an innocent boy in front of the most holy place in the whole world (the Nativity Church) whom we suppose is the most secure place in the world? What will be you your react when you feel that you are not secure in your home while you will be killed if you move from your place, as the case of the boy in Beit Jala who was killed when he tried to bring blanket to his young brother? I am so confused please answer me who is the innocent and who is the terrorist?
Sorry for all these questions, but believe me, I am so frustrated, suffering and bleeding inside my heart. What is my crime to face all these disasters while I must only think of how I will continue living with joy and happiness and how I will develop my skills and opportunities to achieve my goals?
Nothing will pull me down, I’m used for crises and I will continue struggling as a member of our community until we achieve our own rights in building our own state with its Capital Jerusalem.
