“Meals on Wheels” Fundraising Campaign
Birzeit Social Development and Cultural Center (BSCC) Elder Meal Program, Since its founding, has served over 35,000 hot meals to elders living in an Underserved area. We hope to continue and expand meal provision by preparing and providing hot nutritious meals to Elderly in Birzeit both to the members of the center and the elderly at their homes who are not physically able to be at the center.
One of the most daunting tasks for elderly has been meal preparation. Without support, Birzeit’s elderly find it difficult to shop for groceries and prepare hot meals on their own.
Over the past 13 years, BSCC has sought to support elderly by providing them with nutritious hot meals that take into account their particular dietary and health restrictions. The meals are taken together in our community dining hall, contributing toward a social atmosphere that replicates meals they might have otherwise have had at home. With regular visitors and staff at the Center, meals are often an intergenerational time to socialize and to participate in fellowship and community.
We ask for your kind support in continuing BSCC’s Elder meal program by helping us continue prepare the meals and deliver them to those cannot come to the center.
