Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan Bishop William Shomali celebrated the fourth Sunday Lenten Holy Mass at St. Mary of Nazareth Church in Sweifieh, western Amman. The Mass was concelebrated by Director of the Catholic Center for Studies and Media in Jordan Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader, parish priest Fr. Tony Hreimat and Deacon Jubran Salameh.

The Holy Mass was broadcast live on the Catholic Center for Studies and Media Facebook page (en.abouna.org) for the fourth week in a row in the wake of the measures taken by the Jordanian government as well as other governments in the region and the world to suspend attendance of Masses at churches with the intention to block the spread of Coronavirus.

In his homily, Bishop Shomali reiterated his call for maintaining home prayers. He addressed the believers, saying: “I know that some of you are praying the Rosary, or rather the Rosary of the Divine Mercy, at home while others are following “the Way of the Cross” or reading the Holy Bible. I hope that this practice will remain after the epidemic is eliminated. I also hope to transform our homes into home churches.”
