The explosion in Beirut is likely the largest non-atomic explosion in a populated area in history. Hospitals in Beirut that were already at capacity because of the coronavirus have been irreparably damaged or destroyed. 300,000 people became homeless in an instant. Lebanon imports 90% of its wheat and has less than a month’s grain reserves.
I know that we are all struggling because of COVID-19. If you have $5 to spare so that the Lebanese people know that they are not alone I would be eternally grateful. Below is a list of trusted organizations doing excellent work in Lebanon.
The Lebanese Red Cross is the main provider of ambulance and emergency services in Lebanon.

Social and Economic Action for Lebanon is a non-profit, non-political organization founded by a group of Lebanese-Americans wanting to take action against the severe social and economic problems facing post-war Lebanon underserved communities. All donations received will be directed to beneficiary organizations in Lebanon that focus their efforts on the most pressing needs resulting from this tragedy: shelter, food, medication/medical support, rehabilitation, and environment. United Palestinian Appeal (UPA) seeks to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan, and to contribute to the long-term socioeconomic and cultural development of Palestinian society.
