On Tuesday, June 1, the heads of churches in Jordan met with a French parliamentary delegation at the hall of St. Mary of Nazareth Church in Sweifieh, Western Amman. The guest delegation consisted of parliamentarians Sandra Boyle, Gwendal Rouillard, Emilia Lacraffey, Bruno Juncourt and Aurelie Perello in addition to French Ambassador in Amman Véronique Vouland-Aneini.
During the meeting, the French delegation was acquainted with the situation in the region in general and religious plurality in Jordan in particular. The heads of the Churches spoke about the situation in the Kingdom, they also praised the Hashemite leadership and the wisdom of the leadership in steering the Jordanian ship in a balanced and fair manner.
The heads of the Churches also talked about the constructive role played by Christians Jordanians with particular reference to their spiritual and educational institutions in schools and universities, as well as with regards to the social services that are provided to Jordanian citizens as well as to Syrian and Iraqi refugees.
