On Thursday, September 21st, at the Arab American University – Jenin, the second Educational Conference of the Latin Patriarchate schools in Palestine, titled: “Quality of Education… Between reality and hope” was launched under the patronage of Mgr William Shomali, General Vicar.

Among the assembly were Mgr Shomali, Dr. Doaa Gosha, representative of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Mohammad Asia, representative of the presidency of the Arab American University, Sr. Sophia Hatter, the Mother Superior of the Rosary sisters, a group of priests and sisters from different parts of Palestine, in addition to the principles, and teachers of the Latin Patriarchate Schools, and several LPJ staff members. 

The program included an opening speech directed to Mgr. Shomali, the Ministry of Education, and the University. Followed by the screening of a video about the Latin Patriarchate schools in Palestine.

A cultural and heritage segment was presented by the LPJ school of Beit Sahour and LPJ school of Nablus, which included the singing of traditional songs, and a Dabkeh performance.

Also, the General Administration also launched its strategic plan for (2023-2026), which is the result of two years of research, evaluation, and training process. It was done as a participatory and collective work, which included the General Administration and local administrations, with the aim of finding and integrating more comprehensive and realistic interventions. This will help improve the quality of Education and performance of the schools, to make a change in the school’s output. To conclude, Mgr Shomali presented shields to the supporters, partners, and friends who contributed to the success of this special educational event. He also honored 20 teachers who have carried out scientific research and will be presenting the results and recommendations during the duration of the conference.

The second educational conference comes in fulfillment of the vision and mission of the Latin Patriarchate schools in Palestine, by working to promote and develop their schools, to be distinguished by the quality of education, and to maintain the highest levels of effectiveness, efficiency, and innovation to help in the formation of the Palestinian citizens.

The conference will be focused on building the capacities of administrative and educational cadres and providing them with knowledge, skills, and training in modern and contemporary topics related to education. This will contribute to facing the challenges of our times and secure a better future for the students.
