Bethlehem University faculty and staff members recently participated in a series of international exchange programs as part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility program for teaching and training, fostering collaboration and innovation across various academic disciplines.

Five faculty members from the Tarek Ahmad Juffali Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences visited Kalisz University’s Faculty of Medicine from 6 to 10 May 2024. This Erasmus+ program focused on building future partnerships between the institutions. Discussions explored joint research projects, student exchange opportunities, and knowledge sharing.

The faculty members actively contributed by delivering lectures in nursing, midwifery, emergency medicine, and other healthcare fields to Kalisz faculty and students. Dr. Hanan Hazboun addressed palliative care and ethical issues, Sr. Mary Yousef presented on the Qubibeh Nursing Program and Palestinian nursing history, Mrs. Fatima Hammad shared insights on women’s health and her research on pregnancy outside of marriage among Palestinian women, Mr. Nouraldin Talbishi covered critical care and cardiac arrest resuscitation, and Mr. Anan Ghabash discussed rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and community engagement initiatives. The visit also included exploring Kalisz University’s facilities, including the simulation center.

During the same period, Dr. Huwaida Rabie and Dr. Ammar Qarariyah from the Department of Computational Sciences and Engineering at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Technology, and Engineering visited the Polytechnic Faculty at Kalisz University. This exchange resulted in potential final project collaborations for Bethlehem University students, along with discussions on joint research, staff exchange programs, and other collaborative initiatives. This engagement marks a significant step forward in strengthening academic networks and promoting groundbreaking research initiatives for the Computer Simulations in Science and Engineering program.

Tina Hazboun, Instructional Technology Staff, visited the University of Kalisz in April 2024. Her primary objective was to share expertise in using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for content creation in learning materials, research, and administrative tasks. Through workshops, training sessions, and individual consultations, she introduced AI tools to University of Kalisz staff and fostered collaboration on developing AI-powered content creation strategies. This program aimed to promote innovation and modernization in teaching, research, and administration.

Through discussions and interactive sessions, participants explored cultural awareness, cross-border collaboration, and global responsibility. The program equipped students with essential skills for enhancing their professional profiles, including resume and cover letter development tailored for the global job market. They also learned effective interview techniques through the lens of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals. This program aimed to empower students to navigate the globalized world with confidence and contribute meaningfully to interconnected societies.
