WASHINGTON, DC – The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) is proud to announce Anne-Elisabeth Giuliani of Georgetown University (GU) as the newest member of HCEF’s Board of Directors!

HCEF’s Board of Directors consists of respected members of the community who support efforts to bring justice, peace, and prosperity to the Christians of the Holy Land, and who also share HCEF’s goals for humanitarian support of all who suffer oppression in the Holy Land.

Ms. Giuliani’s official membership on the board comes as a natural transition following over 15 years of dedicated cooperation with HCEF. She has worked tirelessly to support HCEF and share its mission and goals with her colleagues and students at GU as well her broader network of peers in the U.S. and throughout the world.

In addition to her recent appointment on HCEF’s board, Ms. Giuliani is a Chaplain-in-Residence at GU. She also works as a research historian and interpreter in the field of international affairs. She received her formation in theology and spirituality at the Studium of Notre Dame de Vie (Our Lady of Life) near Avignon, France, an international theological center rooted in the tradition of the great Carmelite saints and mystics which started in the Holy Land.

Through her experience and connections, Ms. Giuliani has been a great boon to the development of HCEF. Particularly, she has rallied students of all faith traditions around the cause Holy Land Christians. Many of them have gone on to become valuable interns and volunteers with HCEF. Some have even become fulltime staff, including Executive Assistants and Special Programs Coordinators.  Ms. Giuliani has also organized lectures, Palestinian advocacy events, and has held Holy Land craft sales during Advent on behalf of HCEF.

Of her nomination, Ms. Giuliani said, “This nomination is a great honor and a great responsibility. I welcome it as a calling to serve further and more closely Christians in the Holy Land. Additionally, it is clear that HCEF is at a significant time of growth. I am grateful and excited to be part of efforts to envision new strategies and to steer toward even greater impact for Holy Land Christians!”

Sir Rateb Rabie, HCEF President/CEO, says, “I am ecstatic to welcome Anne-Elisabeth to our Board of Directors! She has been by my side for over a decade advocating for the cause of Palestinians. She thoroughly understands the heart and mission of HCEF. I can think of very few individuals that are as well equipped as Anne-Elisabeth to join our team. I expect great things in 2016 and beyond having her on our dedicated and talented Board of Directors. I invite all our supporters to join me in welcoming this exceptional woman to our team!”
