Ramallah – On Wednesday, July 26th, Dr. Ibrahim Shaer, Minister for Social Development, met with Mr. Rateb Rabie, President and CEO of the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF), and Dr. Hanna Hanania, Board Member of the same.
During the meeting, they discussed how to fortify the Ministry’s partnership with HCEF, especially with regard to serving Palestine’s aging community as well as supporting and furthering women’s empowerment.
Dr. Shaer expressed his appreciation for Mr. Rabie’s visit, stating that the Ministry is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for charities and foundations to be active participants in spurring social development.
Dr. Shaer emphasized that working hand in hand is the only way to overcome the many problems that Palestine now faces, given the dire circumstances in which Palestinians are currently living due largely to racist occupation policies. Dr. Shaer stressed that the ethic of working collaboratively is a foundational value in Palestinian culture, and that others would do well to learn from their approaches.
