At the invitation of the Assembly of Catholic Ordinaries in the Holy Land and the coordination of Caritas Jordan, Holy Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, September 25, at the St. George Melkite Church for peace in the Middle East which coincides with the International Day of Peace observed annually on September 21.
Bishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Petra and Philadelphia Joseph Jbara presided at the Mass which was concelebrated by number of vicars and priests. Present at the Mass were a number of caritas Jordan employees and a number of people.
In his homily, Bishop Jbara talked about the International Day of Peace and Pope Francis’ call to serve the causes of peace. He also lauded the message expressed by Caritas which disseminates the message of love and mercy by serving the needy.
