Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders Dr. Sultan Al Rumaithi visited the Catholic Center for Studies and Media (CCSM) in Jordan and met with CCSM Director Fr. Dr. Rif’at Bader four days prior to the convening of the joint two-day conference that will open its sessions on Monday, September 27 titled, “Media People Against Hate”.
During the meeting, attended by Mr. Yousef Rafay’ah and Engineer Jamal Al-Samneh, discussions focused on the conference to be held under the patronage His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi Ibn Muhammad, chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in the presence of several prominent Arab media personalities from various mediums. The discussion also touched on means to enhance cooperation between the CCSM and the Muslim Council of Elders.
This conference, held in conjunction with the Amman International Book Fair, is the second one organized by the Muslim Council of Elders as the first one was held in Abu Dhabi in early 2020 on “Media in the Service of Human Fraternity”. It was convened one year after the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the UAE during which he signed with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb a “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together.”
