On Tuesday, October 11, President of the American University of Madaba (AUM) Mamoun Akroush met with Dr. Salmaan Faraaz, Associate Director – Recruitment and Marketing/ International Enrollment Management at Northeastern University.
The discussions focused on the prospects of collaboration between the two universities designed to promote and facilitate working on joint programs degree and the cultural program to develop a better understanding of cultural diversity.
Since its establishment, the AUM sought to expand cooperation with various universities worldwide with the hope of presenting its students with the most advanced level of education, as well as to establish partnerships with universalities with the aim of paving the way for student exchange and enabling its students to pursue higher education in universities abroad at will.
The AUM earlier signed a memorandum of understanding with Gannon University, a world-renowned university for student exchange based in Pennsylvania, USA, where students will have the option to study one or two semesters at AUM or in the United States. Actually, the MoU is in line with the AUM’s focus on international cooperation with recognized international universities to exchange students and contribute to the transfer of technology and knowledge.
It is worthy to note that that on July 27, 2022, the Jordanian Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI) Council of the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission undertook the decisions with regards to the accreditation of two disciplines being taught at the AUM, namely the “International Accounting and Finance” (Bachelor’s Program) and the Cyber Security/ bachelor’s Program.
The AUM, established with the intention to reach excellence in education and to build a new motivated generation, offers degrees in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, biology and biotechnology, medical laboratories, nutrition and dietetics, pharmacy, computer science, data science and artificial intelligence, accounting, business administration, banking and finance, marketing, risk management, human resources management, architecture, design and visual communication, design and applied arts, English language and literature, translation.
Furthermore, the AUM offers second and third students a valuable opportunity to study at one of its outstanding international partner universities for one or two semesters for the same fees as AUM. These international partnership opportunities extend to faculty teaching exchanges and joint research programs as well. This includes Gannon University, Pennsylvania, USA; Hasselt University, Hasselt, Belgium; Samara University, Samara, Russian Federation; Saint Mary’s University, Texas, San Antonio, USA; DePaul University, Illinois, USA; Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, Lithuania; SPARK Amsterdam, The Netherlands; The University of Minho, Braga, Portugal; Rivier University, Nashua, New Hampshire, USA; and Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Jounieh, Lebanon.
