On Tuesday morning, the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, visited the Embassy of Palestine to the Holy See, where he repeated the condemnation of the terrorist attack and expressed serious concern for the hostages.
He reiterated that these recent events do not contribute to bringing about peace and gave assurances that the Holy See considers the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people to be represented by the State of Palestine.
Finally, he reaffirmed the concern of the Holy See for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and closeness to the Palestinian people.
