Travel Seminar for North American Journalists to Israel and Palestine

WHERE: We will stay in a comfortable hotel in Jerusalem with internet access.  Due to the changing situation, we will visit other places in the West Bank and Gaza according to what is happening and where the Israeli government will permit us to go.

WHAT: We will interview government officials and religious leaders – Christians, Jews and Muslims – and others concerned with peace in the Middle East.  We will have opportunities to experience the current situation.

COST: $2,200 to $2,400 according to the schedule on the ground and your airfare.  This estimate includes airfare and a package fee for hotel, meals and ground transportation.  There are no scholarships or fellowships and the leaders are paying their own way.  The planners are not travel agents and receive no commission. 

AIR TRAVEL: You may make your own flight arrangements and meet the group in Jerusalem on October 16.or you can travel with Mart and Betty Bailey.  They plan to fly on Continental Airlines leaving Newark Airport (a New York airport) late afternoon on October 15 and arriving (non-stop) in Israel on the morning of October 16.  If you want to travel with them, and apply before September 12, they will make the flight arrangements for you and you will pay the cost of those flights along with the package fee.  If you make your own arrangements, you will pay directly for your own flights.  Visas are picked up at the Ben Gurion Airport.

HOW TO APPLY:  Please fill out the application and send it with $400 to Betty Jane Bailey by September 15, 2002.  If you apply by September 1, we might be able to get a less expensive airfare for you.  If you apply after September 15, you might need to stay in a different hotel but you can still join the group.
