HCEF
The Board of Directors of the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation has announced its unanimous selection of Osama and Rula Kishek as the recipients of the 2010 HCEF Award. This award is given annually to individuals who have committed their lives to assisting the Christians in the Holy Land and have demonstrated courage, determination, and action to advance the cause of justice, as well as the sustenance and spiritual support for them, the Living Stones.
In making the announcement, HCEF President Rateb Rabie lauded the honorees for their extraordinary generosity to Holy Land Christian causes. He stated “you have been and continue to be staunch supporters of the Christians in the Holy Land and HCEF since its inception. It is an unselfish, Christ-like act of devotion by both of you.”
Emigrating to the U.S., the Kisheks brought with them the deeply rooted Christian heritage of their ancestors in the Holy Land. They have been exemplary in the multitude of ways they have supported HCEF’s mission.
Osama Kishek was born in Jerusalem emigrating to the U.S. in 1979. He is the founder of Kishek International, Inc., a leading wholesaler of fine jewelry. For many years he has been a member of the HCEF Advisory Board bringing his wise counsel and encouragement to the Foundation. He holds degrees in economics and business administration from UC-Irvine and UCLA. Rula was born in Amman, Jordan and was on the faculty of Rosary College in Amman before emigrating to the U.S. in 1993. Using her unique talents, she has produced highly regarded albums of Christmas carols, Easter music, hymns and many other religious songs whose sale has benefited HCEF. She holds degrees in theology and business.
The 2010 HCEF Award will be presented at the Awards Banquet of the 12th International Conference on the Holy Land on Friday evening, November 5, 2010 held at the Bethesda Marriott Hotel, Bethesda, MD.
