The situation in Palestine is catastrophic for everyone—spiritually, mentally, and materially. Individuals and families there are in dire need and suffering due to the difficult economic conditions caused by food shortages that are widespread around the world, the continued spread of the Corona virus, and the Israeli occupation.
In continuation of its program to support chaste, needy, and underprivileged families in Palestine, the Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) distributed 250 food and health parcels. Each food parcel, containing basic items such as rice, flour, and oil, along with some health materials and sterilizers, is sufficient for six people for one month. Included in this program are the cities and towns of ‘Aboud, ‘Atara, Birzeit, Jenin, Jifna, Ramallah, and Taybeh. This is made possible with the generous support of members of the National Presbyterian Church of Washington DC and with the cooperation the Birzeit Society in America.
Sir Rateb Rabie, HCEF President, bemoaned the tough situation impacting the safety and wellbeing of Palestinian families. He stated, “I can’t imagine how hard it has become for these families to continue their normal life. That’s why we are providing them with humanitarian aid.” Sir Rabie expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to this charitable work, especially the National Presbyterian Church – Washington, DC, and the Birzeit Society of America, as well as all the volunteers and the HCEF’s employees who made the distribution both easy and organized.
