The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem has received the HCEF Board of Directors unanimous vote as the 2009 recipients of the Living Stones Solidarity Award. This award was established to honor an institution that has made a sustained and extraordinary effort to love, support, and stand in solidarity with the Christians in the Holy Land. Throughout its existence, the Order has prayed and worked to bring peace and tranquility, love and justice to the sacred land of Palestine.
Like HCEF, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre is committed to maintaining a vibrant Christian presence in the Holy Land. Through its mission and actions, and for more than 1,000 years, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem has continuously demonstrated its determination to preserve the living stones in the land of Christianity’s birth. The Order’s continuous support of Holy Land schools, seminaries, churches, clinics, jobs and homes is vital for the accomplishment of this purpose. The Order is in full support of the Latin Patriarchate, and most particularly the LPJ schools. Knights of the Order deeply understand the most important, the most necessary, the most efficacious support is through prayer and good works, love and sacrifice, influence and good will offered to God on behalf of the Christian people of the Holy Land, bonding with them in the power of the spirit that they might hold tight and give living light to the church in the land of Jesus.
Because of their distinguished individual service to the church and the Holy Land Christians, Members of the Order are granted honor to become Knights by the Sovereign Pontiff. We are privileged to have the Grand Prior of the Order, His Beatitude Patriarch Fouad Twal, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem serving as chairman of our Advisory Board.
Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and HCEF Awards Banquet Guest of Honor His Eminence John Cardinal Foley will accept the award on behalf of The Order. The Living Stones Solidarity Award will be presented at the 11th Annual Awards Banquet on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Bethesda Marriott, 5151 Pooks Hill Road, Bethesda, MD.
