The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF), in coordination with the Ramallah Health Directorate and Birzeit Clinic, held it is annual flu vaccination day on November 14, 2022. Forty-four seniors from Birzeit and Atara received the flu vaccine at the Birzeit Social Development and Cultural Center (BSCC), an affiliate of the Foundation.

Vaccinations took place under the Palestinian Ministry of Health protocols, noting that this vaccine is valuable protection for seniors, especially for those who are immuno-compromised. The vaccine is safe, effective, and has no side effects.

The flu is a contagious viral disease and is spread by coughing, sneezing, or contact with from nose secretions and sputum. It is spread through microscopic saliva droplets through the air and it attacks the respiratory tract.

Getting the flu vaccine greatly reduces your risk of exposure. Following these simple precautions protect you from flu, cold, and other respiratory diseases, and these airborne diseases are riskier during the winter season. Washing hands, refraining from touching your face, and other hygiene practices will reduce the risk of infection.

Our goal and hope is to assist to vulnerable groups in society and to improve good health through procedures like eye exams, blood tests, hearing tests, vaccinations, and other health screenings. You are crucial in helping us move forward in our goals of creating a healthier society.
