With great giving… Comes great loyalty

In the ongoing celebration of the Senior Citizen International Day, HCEF included an event with the children of Tala’a Al Noor School and Kindergarten

In the ongoing celebration of the Senior Citizen International Day, HCEF held another event in coordination with Tala’a Al Noor School and Kindergarten on October 6, 2021, at Birzeit Social Development and Cultural Center (BSCC). Children from the fourth and fifth grades participated, along with the academic committee and the School Principal, Mr. Ibrahim Abu Musab.

The members and elderly clients of the BSCC greeted the attendees and the participants from the school with welcoming speeches that reinforced their presence and participation with us on this special day.

Afterwards, Mr. Abu Musab gave a speech in which he thanked those in charge of serving our senior citizens through their presence, care, and warm welcome at the BSCC. He also thanked them for receiving the visitors from the school and for giving the children the opportunity to participate and be present among the elderly, as an expression of deep respect and appreciation for this important group on behalf of all of us.

Tala’a Al Noor School and Kindergarten was established in 1990 as a kindergarten for children four and five years old, and later it was expanded to include grades one to five, for both boys and girls. The school has achieved distinction for its management, its educational status, and its academic faculty, which is carefully selected. These factors are strong indicators of its success and consistent excellence.

The students conducted several activities, including singing, recitals, and the Palestinian traditional dancing (Dabkah). There was meaningful interaction with the elderly, which spread joy and happiness to everyone. This interactive relationship indicates the extent of the awareness of the students and their culture of respect and appreciation for the elderly, who have contributed so much to society throughout their lifetimes.

The activities of the Senior Citizen International Day were concluded by cutting a cake and presenting a rose to each elderly person in appreciation of their many years of hard work and their kindness to the children and attendees.

At the end, we can only thank all participants, from Atara and Birzeit, both the members and the elderly. Moreover, we heartily thank the school and the academic faculty for joining us in this successful and distinctive celebration.
